N-ethylpyrrolidone,also known as N-Ethyl-2-pyrrolidone,1-Ethyl-2-pyrrolidinone,NEP  is a colorless and transparent organic solvent with strong polarity. It has high chemical stability, weak alkalinity, outstanding solubility, low vapor pressure, and low dielectric constant. It does not form hydrogen bonds and belongs to a polar nonproton transfer solvent, which can replace other solvents with poor stability, high vapor pressure, high toxicity, and easy penetration into the skin. Therefore, it is often regarded as a non-toxic supersolvent.
